Brokenback Creek Fire in Ten Sleep Under Control

The Brokenback Creek Fire that burned approximately 1,300 acres, believed to be mostly BLM land.

Ten Sleep Fire Department, the Bureau of Land Management, Washakie County firefighters and Big Horn National Forest firefighters all assisted.

The fire was five miles northwest of Ten Sleep near the Ten Sleep – Hyattville Road.

A Type 1 helicopter and Single Engine Air Tankers were used to gain control of the fire.

There was no structure damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The fire is under control and clean up is in progress.
