Bronzes to Be Dedicated Today

A pair of bronze statues will be dedicated today in Cody as part of an effort to beautify – and boost the economy – of the community.
The Cody Public Arts Committee has been tasked by the City Council to enhance public spaces by partnering with local artists and museums to bring professional, high-quality art into the open for all to enjoy.
Cindy Katz, a member of the committee, says Cody Mayor Matt Hall pushed for the formation of the committee to help enhance Cody’s cultural appeal.
Two of the three sculptures that are planned for installation this summer will be dedicated today – a bench depicting a seated Buffalo Bill Cody will be officially dedicated in front of the Irma Hotel at 10 a.m., and a T.D. Kelsey Bronze titled “High and Dry” will be dedicated in Bell Plaza at noon.
Katz says a third bronze, created by legendary artist Harry Jackson, will be installed later this summer near the bandshell in City Park.
