Bunk Bed Build Tomorrow in Cody City Park

A carnival in City Park tomorrow will do more than just put smiles on kids’ faces – it will improve the lives of children who don’t have a bed to sleep in.
The Northwest Wyoming Realtors Association is hosting their fourth annual Realtors For Kids Carnival tomorrow from 10-2 p.m. The carnival is completely free, from the games and activities to the pizza and root beer floats provided by local businesses.
In conjunction with the carnival, a local organization plans to build twenty bunk beds as part of a nationwide effort called Bunks Across America. Dan Frederick, the organizer for the Worland chapter of “Sleep in Heavenly Peace,” says they want to meet their goal of no kids sleeping on the floor in their town – in this case, the entire Big Horn Basin.
Frederick says there will be over fifty volunteers tomorrow participating in a nationwide effort, in conjunction with 100 other chapters of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, to build over 2500 bunk beds in one day.
Representatives from the Northwest Wyoming Realtors Association say that in addition to the beds, donations of new or like-new twin bedding would be appreciated to round out the efforts of the volunteers.
