Cactus Productions of Cody, Wyoming Wins Emmy Award

Cactus Productions is a local, high-quality video production company based here in Cody, Wyoming. The company is operated by owner and producer Preston Randolph. The company was honored this week with an Emmy Award at the 36th Annual National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Gala.

Randolph’s Cactus Productions received the award for a video commercial campaign for the Park County Travel Council titled, “Moments in Park County,” which highlights outdoor recreation opportunities in the area.

Cactus Productions specializes in high-quality video production, documentary films, and marketing campaigns. Their videos have been featured by PBS, Major League Baseball, and various prevention campaigns in multiple states and counties. The company has also won Telly Awards, Communicator Awards, Muse Awards, and previously has received several additional Emmy nominations.

The Park County Travel Council works hard to highlight the abundance of recreational activities available in Park County, Wyoming. Cody is, of course, a destination on its own. The Travel Council wanted to produce a series of videos showcasing all of Park County’s adventure and outdoor possibilities. Eventually, they chose Cactus Productions to shoot the videos.

Locals played a vital role in the creation of the commercial campaign as actors.

This Emmy Award is truly reflective of the magnificence of Park County, WY.”

Preston Randolph founded Cactus Productions in Cody in 2009. Randolph started the business in his parents’ garage and worked tirelessly to grow it into an award-winning video production studio. He now has the opportunity to work with numerous individuals, organizations, and states to produce high-quality, impactful videos.

Preston married his wife Hilary in 2020, she subsequently quit her job as a teacher to help him with the business and to stay home with their children Kamry, Alayna, and Grace.  Randolph explains that owning and running a family business was always a goal of his and he is grateful to be able to do so.

Tristen Acton is a subcontractor who worked on the award-winning, “Moments in Park County.” Acton has assisted with many other projects for Cactus Productions.  A comedic entertainer, Tristen started Sketchy Advice to spread laughter with his comedy sketches.
