Candidate Forums Today
Written by Andrew-Rossi on August 2, 2018
There are two opportunities today for voters to get to know the candidates who are vying for elected office in Park County and the state.
A Candidate Meet and Greet today from 11 to 1:30 at Powell’s Washington Park will let Park County residents get up close and personal with 33 of the candidates for offices ranging from Powell City Council to the United States House of Representatives.
Christine Bekes, executive director for the Powell Economic Partnership, says that each candidate will be given an opportunity to answer a couple of prepared questions that focus on economic development.
Additionally, there will be a Governor’s Forum this evening at 6 p.m. at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s Coe Auditorium. Denise Shirley with the Park County Republican Party says that this forum will give both attendees and those who are listening to the live broadcast the opportunity to find out where the candidates stand on key issues.
The Governor’s Forum will be broadcast live this evening on KODI 1400 AM and 96.7 FM.
