Cody Throttles Jackson in Battle of the Broncs

The Cody Broncs took to the road Friday night, traveling to Jackson for their first conference game of the season.

Cody would lay the smackdown in this contest, winning 54-7.

Cody got on the board early and often never looking back as they scored touchdowns on their first 5 drives of the game and would lead 33-0 at the half.

Jackson would get on the board late in the game on a pick-6 but Cody would respond with a 1 yard touchdown pass from Maddox Ball to Chase Hatch.

Luke Talich led the way for Cody with 5 total touchdowns, 4 passing and had a fumble recovery for a score.

Talich was 10-16 through the air for about 190 yards and the 4 TD’s. He also ran the ball 6 times for about 77 yards.

Trey Thomasson had himself a breakout performance, hauling in 4 catches for for about 87 yards and 2 TD’s. He also had 2 carries for about 18 yards and one score.

Matt Nelson continued his tremendous season, running the ball 3 times for about 49 yards and a TD. He also had 3 catches for about 57 yards and 2 TD receptions.

Grayson Beaudrie and Jackson Schroeder combined for 19 rushing attempts and about 110 yards.

Dillon Brost had a solid performance, accounting for about 46 yards on 6 carries.

Maddox Ball had 13 rushing yards to go along with the TD pass.

Chase Hatch had a TD catch.

Cody would force 4 total turnovers, 2 fumbles and 2 interceptions.

Cody turned it over twice and also was dinged for 11 penalties and that resulted in over 100 penalty yards.

The Cody Broncs would amass over 500 yards of total offense: about 323 on the ground and over 190 through the air.

With the win: Cody is now 4-0 on the season, 1-0 in conference play. They have won 20 straight games dating back to the 2020 season.

Up Next: Cody will host Green River for homecoming, on Friday September 30th with kick-off scheduled for 7pm.
