Commissioners Approve Initial Replacement of Emergency Signs in Washakie County

Emergency signs were again a topic of conversation at Tuesday’s Washakie County Commissioner’s meeting.
County Fire Warden Chris Kocher, Ambulance Director Luke Sypherd and County Planner David Anderson have been assessing the work that needs to be done inside of Washakie County as it pertains to the replacement of emergency signs.
Clearly marked roads and homes that exist on multiple county roads and subdivisions is of utmost importance to emergency responders — where minutes and even seconds can make the difference between saving a life or a home from a medical emergency or fire.
The planning group of Anderson, Kocher and Sypherd made the recommendation to begin sign replacement on Airport Road and Lane 14. The Commissioners approved of the action. Both the commissioners and planning group felt as though these areas would give them a good idea of what they could expect from the rest of the project. A total of 750 to 800 signs could be replaced.
