Council Voting on Alcohol Ordinances

Written by on July 31, 2017

The Cody City Council tomorrow will be hearing the second reading of ordinances that will bring the City Code in line with the state regarding alcohol laws.
The ordinances being considered will offer more local control to the City, according to City Administrator Barry Cook.

Also at the Council meeting tomorrow evening, the Council is set to approve joint projects with local foundations that could improve existing recreation facilities. They are planning to approve a request from the Cody Recreation Foundation to conduct a feasibility study, looking at the possibility of installing an outdoor splash pad at the Paul Stock Aquatics and Recreation Center. However, City staff points out that all costs associated with the study will be paid for by the Rec District, and the City will not be obligated to move forward with the splash pad, no matter what the results of the study are.
Council is also planning to authorize the Shoshone Recreation District to replace the damaged fishing pier at Beck Lake Park. The City will not be providing funds for the replacement of the pier – the Rec District will take on all costs and will be working with a licensed contractor on the project.
