Chris Kocher–Worland Fire Chief and Brian Russell of the State Forestry Service met with the Washakie County Commissioners Tuesday to discuss bids for the Annie Tolman grant.
The RFP Grant area for this year is 60 acres and the county received two bids for the work.
The first bid was submitted by Summit Forests Incorporated out of Ashland, Oregon. The bid total for the work was $44,835. The second bid was from Shell Valley Consulting out of Shell, Wyoming. Their bid came in slightly higher at $50,375
The commissioners instructed Kocher to look at the bids and make sure that each covered the work necessary before making a choice. Kocher also advised that since federal officials look at best use of resources–selecting a higher bid could impact their ability to get funding in future years. Kocher returned later to the commission and made a recommendation to accept Summit Forests Incorporated’s bid and the commissioners approved the motion.
