It was a sweep for the Cody Basketball teams, Thursday night as both the Broncs and Fillies would come away with victories over Worland.

We’ll start with a look at the Fillies who were without their point guard Kennedi Niemann but still put up 50 plus points to down the Lady Warriors 53-24.

The Fillies got off to a bit of a slow start closing the first quarter with a 12-4 lead.

Worland would not back down and answered with 12 of their own in the second as the Fillies went into the halftime locker-room up 29-16.

The intermission is just what the Fillies needed to get right as they held the Lady Warriors to 0 points in the third quarter and led 43-16 after three.

Cody would tack on 10 more in the 4th for the win.

Molly Hays would lead the way for Cody in this one with 15 points. Victory Buck added a season high 13 and Ally Boysen had 12.

Reece Niemann finished with 5, Jessa Lynn had 4, Ellie Talich had 2 and Sophie Radakovich would score her first career varsity bucket.

With the win the Fillies are now 6-0 on the season and have won 25 straight regular season games, dating back to last year.

As for the Broncs, Luke Talich made his season debut and the Broncs pulled away late to defeat the Worland Warriors 53-43.

The win over Worland is the first time this Bronc Senior class has ever defeated the Warriors on the hardwood, in a varsity high school game.

Cody would score the first 2 points of the game off the tip as Robby Porter laid it in to set the tone early and took a 12-10 lead after one.

Worland would battle but Cody gained the lead in the 2nd and never relinquished it after that. The Broncs built a 9 point advantage but the Warriors scored the final 5 of the first half and Cody led 28-24 at the half.

It was a back-and-forth 3rd quarter that ended with Porter again making noise, this time a buzzer-beating 3 and Cody led 40-35 after the third.

It was all Cody from their. The Broncs went on to outscore the Warriors 13-8 in the final frame to close out an exciting night.

With the win the Broncs are now 3-3 on the season.
