Flood Advisory expired, but dangerous river conditions still exist

A flood advisory for south Central Big Horn County and northeast Washakie County expired this morning at 4:45 A.M. Dangerous conditions may still exist.
As of 10:45 P.M. Wednesday night, the Nowood River near Ten Sleep was continuing to flow very high due to recent excess rainfall runoff. The Nowood River is expected to run a moderate to high levels through early Thursday morning.
Some locations that may experience minor flooding include; Basin, Ten Sleep, Manderson and the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.
NWS reminds motorists to turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads, most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Take extra caution at night and in low light situations as it is harder to identify and recognize the dangers of flooded areas.
