Former CHS Standout named WRBC Rookie of the Year

The Women’s Ranch Bronc Championships 2022 season came to a close last weekend. It was announced that former Cody Filly Kathryn Sauerwein has been named the Rookie of the Year.

Sauerwein was a standout Cross Country and Track runner for Cody during here high school years and now is an established Bronc rider.

According to their website, the Texas Bronc Riders Association and Women’s Ranch Bronc Championships was founded in 2015 by a group of cowboys who saw a need that wasn’t being met for young men, youth and ladies wanting to learn to bronc ride.

The mission of the Women’s Ranch Bronc Championships is to provide ladies an opportunity to develop their skills through sanctioned schools and events. The main goal is to help ladies reach their dreams as bronc riders.

Up next: Sauerwein will be riding for Team USA at the World Championships in Cheyenne.
