GOP Secretary Opts for Plea Agreement

Written by on April 2, 2018

The former state secretary of the Wyoming Republican Party has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor simple assault stemming from an incident involving the party’s executive director.
Christopher Humphrey, an attorney for Charles Curley, says in a statement that Curley decided to accept a plea agreement and pay a fine rather than go through the expense of further litigation.
Court officials say Curley will pay a $750 fine.
Republican officials have said an incident between Curley and GOP executive director Kristi Wallin occurred during a fundraiser in Cheyenne on Feb. 23, resulting in the charge against Curley.
Curley resigned his position with the GOP after he was suspended by the party and faced removal by party leaders.
