Grace Shaffer Sets Class 4A Pole Vault Record

Written by on May 21, 2021

During day 2 of the Class 4A Wyoming State Track meet on Friday, Cody High School’s Grace Shaffer made history. Shaffer set the new Class 4A State record in the Pole Vault at 12 feet, 6.5 inches. She now holds both the indoor and outdoor state pole vault records at that height.

Shaffer beat out Paula Andrie of Campbell County who has held the record  at 12 feet since 2011.

I was fortunate to catch up with the Cody Senior following who record setting day and here’s that interview.

The Cody Track teams will conclude the 2021 State Track meet on Saturday. Stay tuned to the Big Horn Radio Network for further results.
