H.O.G.® Motorcycle Rally Scheduled in Cody this Summer Despite High Gas Prices

Written by on April 27, 2022

This summer Cody is a scheduled destination for one of Harley-Davidson’s 2022 Global H.O.G.® Rallies, “Kick’n It in Cody!”, part of the Harley Owners Group, set to take place on June 23rd-25th.

City Mayor Matt Hall shared news about the event with Mac Watson on KODI, Speak Your Piece (April 25th, 2022).

Despite high gas prices, Mayor Hall is optimistic about this tourist season, saying, “We are still going to have a lot of people coming.”

All the familiar downtown events are returning this summer like the Cody Gunfighters and the Cody Horse Sale in May. However, what’s new this year is the Harley-Davidson rally. “It’s called a ‘H.O.G.’ rally,” Mayor Hall explains.

Harley-Davidson picks “a different destination every year—last year they were in Durango, Colorado with upwards of 900 bikes,” Hall says.

Ryan Hauck, Executive Director for the Park County Travel Council, is also working with the group to plan for the rally. The City Council has approved street closures for the event, as it will be open to the public.

Sheridan Avenue will be closed from 12th Street to 14th Street from 5pm to 10pm on June 23rd to kick off the event.

“I think it’s kind of a social thing obviously for all the event participants to get together, and people in the community, and obviously tourists…there are going to be a lot of interesting motorcycles to take a look at!” Hall says.
