Heart Mountain Community Hike Saturday

Written by on June 13, 2019

The annual Heart Mountain Community Hike is back on track.

The event, which was originally scheduled for June 1st, was cancelled due to poor weather. But Bebe Crouse with the Nature Conservancy says the annual spring event has been rescheduled for this coming Saturday, June 15th.

Hikers are invited to meet at the Heart Mountain Ranch Preserve office at the base of the trail to the top of Heart Mountain at 8 a.m. Dogs are discouraged from this event, according to organizers. Participants are advised to wear comfortable hiking shoes, and bring sunglasses, water, sunscreen and a lunch, along with clothing appropriate for rapidly changing conditions.

As bears have been spotted frequently along this route, anyone who might set a pace slower or faster than the rest of the group is urged to have bear spray with them.

The hike is sponsored by The Nature Conservancy’s Heart Mountain Ranch Preserve.
