Heart Mountain Free Clinic Needs Financial Boost

A busy nonprofit organization in Park County that serves low-income individuals is itself running short of funds.
Heart Mountain Volunteer Medical Clinic opened its Clinic Doors in Powell over 10 years ago, and a second branch opened in Cody, in August 2010. The Powell clinic closed in 2015, and the Board of Directors voted to change the name at the time to the Heart Mountain Free Clinic, with its one location in Cody.
The Heart Mountain Free Clinic offers medical services to anyone in the Big Horn Basin in need. Executive Director Dawn Garrison says the clinic operates through the contributions of volunteers.
“We have volunteers for doctors we have volunteers as nurses and we have volunteers that run the front, you know and welcome people, and we also have volunteers that bring us food.”
Despite the benefits of volunteer donations and grants, the clinic needs community support. Find out more at hmvmc.net. Call them to offer your financial support at 272-1753.
