Jackson Schroeder clobbered two home runs, knocked in 5-RBI as the Cody Cubs knocked off the World, Wednesday night, by a final of 8-7.

With the Cubs trailing 4-2 in the in the bottom of the fourth, Schroeder stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and 1 out. With a 1-0 count Schroeder connected on a fastball and as they say the rest is history.

Jace Jarrett and Ty Peterson each drew key walks in the inning while Ben Reinker would get the party started for the Cubs with an RBI double in the inning.

Schroeder would also take to the hill Wednesday night and threw 5 innings while giving up 5 runs on 9 hits and struck out 6.

Dominic Phillips would take over for the final two innings, giving up one run on 2 hits and struck out the final batter of the game to pick up his first win of the season.

Cody’s order, 1-9, was fantastic in this ball game. Trey Thomasson made some spectacular plays in the outfield while the bottom third of the order was instrumental in helping Cody claim victory.

The birthday boy, Wyatt Carlson, would go 1-3 at the plate with a run scored.

Following the ball game, Cody is now 17-13 on the season.

Up Next: Cody plays host to the Wood Bat Tournament, this weekend. The Cubs will get that action underway on Friday vs. the World at 12-noon.
