Lady Warrior Volleyball Begins a New Era

Written by on August 17, 2021

The Lady Warrior Volleyball team comes into the 2021 season with four Seniors. This was a team that graduated 7 Seniors from last season. A team that came one match shy of a State Championship. Not just in 2020, but in 2019 as well.

With a strong rotation over the last two seasons it was difficult for the current Seniors to see playing time. Carly Yule and Maren Cottrell were the only two underclassmen to see any significant Varsity playing time last season.

These four Seniors have something to prove. ” We are able to grow together.” Senior Maren Cottrell would say about her teammates.

“I’m shooting for surprising everyone.” would say Senior Britney Dinez. She believes the team will be underestimated.  Senior Carly Yule added “We’re kinda starting over but that doesn’t scare me.”

Senior Braylyn Robertson talked about this seasons slogan. “We just always want to give a little bit more because we know we can.”

KWOR talked with the Senior Athletes about being a Senior. “It’s crazy to say we’re Seniors.” Maren realized. “Kinda weird to think about that.” added Carly. Britney would say “The years have gone by so fast, then BOOM you’re a Senior.”

This season the Lady Warrior volleyball team has lots to figure out, but under the leadership of the four Seniors and Coach Britney Miller the are all willing to #Givealittlebitmore
