C.J. Box’s “Joe Pickett” series have finally found its star and filming will be ready to start soon right here in Wyoming! C.J Box’s roots are from the Wyoming, and he currently lives here still. His latest book “Dark Sky” debuted at #3 on the New York Times Best Sellers.

He actually grew up in the Casper and also graduated with a degree in Mass Communications from our neighboring state of Colorado. Since then his books have been a fan favorite. The pages we turn in his books are now about to be made into a tv series. Set the stage for the backdrop to be right here in Wyoming.

According to Deadline the actor Michael Dorman, known for his roles in “The Invisible Man” remake and the Apple TV+ series “For All Mankind,” has been cast as the very famous game warden. Michael Dorman happens to be from New Zealand so I bet this is a big change of scenery for him to come film in Wyoming. With that being said he will star as the leading man of C.J’S Box’s 20-novel series. This will be a Spectrum Original. We can look forward to a 10-episode order for the series. Each episode will be an hour long of pure entertainment.

“We’ve been teasing this for months. Now here it is and we couldn’t be more pleased!” Box wrote in a Facebook post about the casting announcement. I have to say. He. Did. Good.

If you are not familiar with Joe Pickett the books are based on the game warden and his family as they move around their ever changing very small rural Wyoming town. Mostly surrounded by rich history and of course a lot of wildlife. But wait there is more this town hides decades of secrets and stories that have yet to be exposed.

C.J. Box’s novels will suck you in with the silent yet stunning beauty of the Wyoming and it’s history. The characters are like no other and paint the perfect picture of what the story means. To have such a wonderful author from Wyoming to write, produce, and have Wyoming be the place to set the seen for the screen is amazing.

This is the second TV series take of Box’s work over the past year. David E. Kelley’s “Big Sky,” that is based on Box’s Cassie Dewell novels, and stars Ryan Phillippe has been a an incredible hit.

If you have not seen it, well it is worth the watch. It hits hard with real life of missing girls in our neck of the woods, mostly based in or around Yellowstone from Montana to Wyoming. Most of C.J Box’s story lines are set around here.  I hope that you too look forward to such an exciting adventure of filming coming our way!
