HarvestFest comes to Worland each year in early-September and the event is looking to grow in it’s diverse vendors and activities.
Steve Radabaugh with the Worland-Ten Sleep Chamber of Commerce was at Tuesday night’s Worland City Council meeting with information regarding the possibility of hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament during this year’s HarvestFest. Pepsi-Admiral Beverage and RT Communications agreed to allow the Chamber to utilize the parking lot that is behind both businesses.
Radabaugh asked if it would be possible for the city to block off Coburn and 8th street to the alley and also close Coburn from 8th to 9th Street. The council asked Chief Gabe Elliott his thoughts. Elliott responded–quote–“I am pro these types of activities and see have no problems with the plan of blocking off streets.” End quote.
Mr. Radabaugh indicated that he was in conversation with Hot Springs County School District’s Athletic Director Brandon Deromedi discussing the logistics of the event. As well the Chamber would look to use or rent hoops from Thermopolis.
A number of council members suggested that Radabaugh talk with the residents and businesses on Coburn as to prepare them for the road closure and the event that would be taking place on September 14th.
