Loss to Douglas Sends Warriors to 4th Seed In Playoffs

In a game that lasted 2 hours and 18 minutes the Douglas Bearcats would come into Worland and get a 16-7 win on Senior Night.

Sixteen Warrior Football Players : Jorey Anderson, Aaron Carver, Garrett Cole, Simon Dalebout, Sam Grzybowski, Liam Harper, Ty Harris, Felix Lentsch, Jaiden Lloyd, Christian Peterson, Taylor Pierce, Josh Rose, Kaden Pfeiffer, Evyn Ruelas, Alexis Vazquez, Abel Vega, and Team Manager Emilee Harrington were honored.

Five WHS Cheerleaders were also honored on Senior Night at the beginning of the Warrior vs Bearcats football game : Janet Ayngua, Brittany Deniz, Peyton Elliot, Marissa Vail, and Abi Westphal.

Douglas came into the game 7-0. Worland was 4-3. Both teams had a chance at the number one playoff seed. Both teams also had a chance at the other 3 seeds. One sure thing. Both teams were in the playoffs.

The Warriors ran 30 plays for a total of 122 yards against the number 1 ranked Douglas defense.

Kade Weber threw 14 passes completing 10 for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Worland leading receiver was Brock Douzenis who had 5 receptions for 83 yards including the lone Warrior touchdown for 59 yards.

The Bearcats ran 63 plays for 345 yards and controlled the clock in the fourth quarter with over 9 minuets of procession.

The Warriors held Douglas to just 3 points in the second half but were unable to score themselves.

Next for the Warriors will be in the opening round of the playoffs against the defending Wyoming 3A Champion Cody Broncs.

Cody is 8-0 this season. This will be the 3rd year in a row that Worland plays Cody in the first round of the playoffs.
