Matt Nelson’s 4 TD’s Powers Cody to Homecoming Victory

Cody Broncs take to Spike Vannoy Stadium in a blaze of glory for homecoming.

The Cody Broncs came away with a huge win on Homecoming, Friday night, defeating the Green River Wolves by a final of 69-6.

After fumbling the opening kick-off, Wilkins Radakovich would come away with an interception and it was all Cody from there. Luke Talich and the offense drove down the field, capped off by a Trey Thomasson 4 yard Touchdown run.

The Broncs would lead 14-0 after one quarter of play but really found a rhythm in the second quarter as they tallied 34 points in the frame to lead 48-0 at the half.

All three phases: Offense, Defense and Special teams all showed out.

Matt Nelson would lead the way for the Broncs accounting for four total touchdowns: 2 rushing, 1 receiving and had a 70 yard punt return for a score.

All three quarterbacks: Luke Talich, Maddox Ball and Ben Hogan would have touchdown passes.

The Defense forced 6 total turnovers, 4 fumbles and 2 interceptions.

Nelson fishished with 47 yards rushing and 2 TD’s. He had 1 catch for 22 yards and a TD. Also had a 70 yard punt return for a score.

Luke Talich was 4-7 through the air for 42 yards and 2 TD’s. He also ran the ball 7 times for 85 yards and a score.

Trey Thomasson had a couple of carries for 26 yards and a TD while adding one catch.

Jackson Schroeder had 7 carries for about 83 yards. He also force a fumble and recovered 2.

In all 15 plus players had a touch in this contest. The Broncs accumulated about 407 total yards of offense, 312 on the ground and about 95 through the air.

With the win the Cody Broncs are now 5-0, 2-0 in conference play.

Up Next: Cody will travel to Star Valley to take on the Braves in a State Championship preview. That contest gets underway on Friday with kick-off at 5pm.
