Meeteetse Outscores Dubois in High Scoring Affair

Dace Bennett had a hand in every single one of Meeteetse’s Touchdowns as the Longhorns knocked of Dubois, Saturday afternoon, 80-68.

The Longhorns welcomed Dubois into Meeteetse Saturday for a match-up of two top 5 teams in the 6-man football ranks and the game lived up to the hype. Meeteetse was ranked No. 1 with Dubios No. 4.

The Longhorns would strike first and led 16-0 early in the first quarter and would extend their lead, finishing the first quarter up 32-14.

Dubois would gather some momentum in the second quarter and cut into Meeteetse’s lead but the Longhorns went into the intermission up 10, 46-36.

At the half, Bennett had six total touchdowns: three pass, two rush and one receiving.

From the halftime on, this game was back-and-forth with each team matching the other blow-for blow. Meeteetse never relinquished the lead and held on for the 12 point win.

Bennett would score 11 total touchdowns on the day.

He 12-28 passing for 279 yards, 4 TD’s and one interception. He also ran the ball 18 times for 336 yards with 6 rushing TD’s and had 2 catches for 55 yards and a receiving TD.

Kalvin Erickson would finish the day as Bennett’s top receiver hauling in 9 catches for 218 yards and 4 scores.

With the win the Longhorns are now 2-1 on the season.
