A long-anticipated visit by the Higher Learning Commission to Northwest College will be taking place next Monday and Tuesday.
Although the college is accredited and has been for decades, Mark Kitchen, Vice President for College Relations, says re-accreditation is extremely important for the functionality of the school.
Additionally, Kitchen says they have been working for several years on a report that outlines how the accreditation standards are being met at Northwest College.
College President Stefanie Hicswa says the visit by the Higher Learning Commission is a major component of the school’s reaccreditation process. She says that during their upcoming visit, the commission team members want to meet with area residents, and they invite the public to attend a brief community meeting scheduled on campus on Monday, September 11, from 4:30-5:30 pm in the Yellowstone Building, room 105.
