Pallet Fire Human Caused, Authorities Investigating

The Washakie County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Land Management are investigating the cause of the Pallet Fire that occurred Saturday evening, April 13th — accroding to a report in the Northern Wyoming News.
BLM public affairs officer Sarah Beckwith said the BLM was notified of the fire at 7:20 p.m. The fire was located about 2 miles northeast of Worland on mostly public lands. Beckwith said some private lands were also in the burn area.
According to the Worland Volunteer Fire Department, the department was dispatched at 6:56 p.m. to Washakie Ten, just south of Lane 8 for a grass fire. The fire originated on a two-track road on BLM land.
The fire burned 24.35 acres.
Beckwith said the fire was human caused but the exact nature of the cause is still under investigation.
