Perfect First Dates During The Halloween Season

Written by on October 13, 2022

Fall is here and temperatures are dropping.

Now that Halloween is just a couple of weeks away, it’s the perfect opportunity for bachelors and bachelorettes to get creative when looking for love. You and I both know that dating can be difficult, so consider some of these ideas when planning for your next romantic and spooky night out.

  1. Go to a Haunted House

Nothing is more spooky than visiting your local haunted house! In most cases, haunted houses are fairly inexpensive and can be a fun adventure for both you and your partner. If you’re looking to make a great first impression and have a good time, you can’t go wrong with this choice. Here’s why haunted houses are also great… they can be a smooth way of breaking those “awkward” boundaries. Haunted houses are known for jump scares and as you navigate your way through the attraction, don’t be surprised if your date jumps into your arms. Looking for a haunted house? For those in the Big Horn Basin, The Cody Eagles put on a spooktacular haunted house each year on Halloween day!

2. Pick Out a Pumpkin at a Pumpkin Patch

No matter the age, getting your very own pumpkin is an easy and fun way to get into the Halloween spirit. Not only can you argue with your date over finding that perfect pumpkin, but you can spend some quality time carving it together too! Some pumpkin patches even have fun attractions such as a corn maze, hayrides, and haybale slides. Here’s a pro tip: make sure your date doesn’t have any allergies to hay! Imagine going in for that kiss and getting a face full of sneeze!! Ain’t no one got time for that. If you’re looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon, check out Gallagher’s Corn Maze in Clark, Wyoming!

3. Go Trick or Treating

This one’s a classic, spend Halloween with your date walking the streets in your awesome costume! What makes Halloween special? For me, it’s having the chance to spend time with friends and family. So why not use Halloween as a perfect time to introduce your date to your parents? They’ll be in a good mood and you won’t have to sit through any awkwardness that would come if, for example, you sat down over dinner. Here’s an idea: pick out a couple’s costume! She/He can be the salt to your pepper, the ying to your yang… you get the point. If you’re looking for a fun place to trick or treat and a way to score lots of candy, starting at 4 on Sheridan Avenue in Cody is the downtown trick or treating!

4. Spirit Halloween Store

Ok, hear me out! Have you ever been to a Spirit Halloween Store before? If you haven’t, well what are you waiting for? While your date might think it’s lame at first, once you go, I guarantee they will be begging you to take them back. Any costume you can imagine, they have. They also have some interactive Halloween decorations that you can spend hours checking out. I must warn you about one thing when visiting a Spirit Halloween Store… BEWARE OF LOTS OF KIDS! You’ll see kids running around, disobeying their parents, and filled with excitement as they wander around the store. Where’s the closest Spirit Halloween Store? You’ll have to make the drive up to Billings, Montana to find it.

5. The BK Lounge

Use this as a last resort for that spooky, but romantic night out. Head over to the BK Lounge! So what is the BK Lounge? Well… it’s Burger King. Every year, Burger King does something with their famous Whoppers where they change the color of the burger. Picture this… a burger that is completely black. Does it look gross? You bet! Does it smell funny? It sure does! Does it taste good? Well, that’s up for debate. This will be a date that your partner will remember forever, and in the end, could possibly score you serious bonus points! It also can make for a good story later down the road.

There are plenty of options for you to be romantic and get into that Halloween spirit! Try one of these out and tell me how it went!
