Public Asked to Pitch In to “Save the Show”

The Cody Chamber of Commerce is working hard to keep a community tradition going.

The Chamber is spearheading the effort to fund Cody’s annual fireworks show, which takes place after sundown on the 4th of July. Executive Director Tina Hoebelheinrich says that the fireworks are an integral part of the annual Stampede Celebration.

Hoebelheinrich says this year’s show cost about $30,000 to put on, so grants from agencies like the Shoshone Rec District and the Park County Parks and Rec District make a huge difference. However, she points out that it’s vital to get public support. The Chamber will be accepting donations year-round to quote, “Save the Show,” and for every $20 donation the donor will receive a t-shirt.

To contribute to the fireworks fund, Hoebelheinrich says donors can go to their website, and on the calendar under the 4th of July, there will be a link to an online donation page. She adds that anyone can make a donation in person at the Chamber Visitor Center as well.
