Written by on July 12, 2017

An Idaho man who was rafting the Snake River drowned Saturday.
The Jackson Hole News and Guide reported yesterday that 48-year-old Christopher J. Chapman of Pocatello, Idaho, died Saturday morning while whitewater rafting with his family and friends.
Lincoln County Coroner Michael Richins says Chapman was pronounced dead at the Sheep Gulch boat ramp after being in the water for about an hour.
He was thrown from his raft by a rapid upstream from Big Kahuna. Witnesses say all but two people in Chapman’s group were thrown into the water when their raft folded. The other people thrown into the water were pulled back into the raft, according to police.
