Rebekah Burns Chosen a Powell Economic Partnership’s New Executive Director

Written by on February 27, 2020

The Powell Economic Partnership has selected its new Executive Director.

Rebekah Burns, currently the Communications & Tourism Director and Community Relations Manager for the combined Powell Economic Partnership, the Powell Chamber, and Powell Visitor Center, will soon transition into the role of the new Executive Director. Burns has been with the Partnership full-time since June 2017, serving first as the Visitor Center Coordinator and more recently as the Communications and Tourism Director. She helped PEP navigate the merger of PEP and the Powell Chamber and Visitor Center.

Before her time in Powell, Burns worked as an account representative at Crews Control near Washington D.C., managing 1500 clients from a wide range of corporations and government agencies, giving her experience in a variety of markets and industries. She’s been living and working in Powell since 2015. For someone that integral and experienced with the Powell Economic Partnership, its only appropriate that she take the reins.

Christine Bekes, the first and current Executive Director of the Partnership, is stepping down due to a family relocation to Nevada. Thankfully, her close colleague Rebekah Burns is ready to continue the work they started together.
