Scam Targeting Worland Residents Reported

The Worland Police Department has received a recent report of an apparent scam. The scammer identifies themselves as an employee of the City of Worland and requests to speak to the owner of the residence/business. The scammer then attempts to ascertain the owners credit card information as a means to cover fees owed to the City of Worland.
DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OR ANY OTHER FINANCIAL OR PERSONAL INFORMATION!
The City of Worland does not contact anyone requesting credit card information for any type of billing owed to the city. For billing inquires please contact City Hall at 829 Big Horn Ave or call (307)347-2486.
