School Security and ERC Renovations on tap for WCSD #1

School security and building upgrades were on the agenda at last night’s Washakie County School District #1 Trustees meeting.
Business Manager Jack Stott indicated to the school board that the high school will be the first building to get new security doors at the front entrance. Other entrance upgrades at the high school will include bringing the south and east entrances up to ADA standards and the installation of ballards.
The Educational Resource Center bid was also approved last night — with Fox General Construction getting Superintendent David Nicholas’ recommendation. The total bid for the ERC renovation came in at $311,347. The project will begin as soon as school is out of session and will be completed before the beginning of the 2019-20 school year. Fox General Construction is familiar to the district as they also remodeled the home economics room recently.
