Some Roads Opening in Yellowstone Friday

Written by on April 18, 2018

Spring really is here, despite yesterday’s snow. In Yellowstone Park, beginning Friday, several roads and services will be open for the season.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on April 20th, the north and west entrances to Yellowstone will be open to visitors, allowing access to Old Faithful, Norris, Canyon and Madison junctions.
However, Park officials note that the opening of a five-mile-stretch of road between Mammoth Hot Springs and Norris may be delayed until it is safe to drive on. And a road construction area, about five miles between Willow Park and Roaring Mountain, is unpaved, deeply rutted, and muddy. Park staff says construction crews are working hard to improve the area, but say that until the road construction area opens, plan to travel to Old Faithful and Canyon through the West Entrance.
