Spring Sports Start In Worland

The spring sports season is upon us, after a year without them. First practices were Monday on a beautiful afternoon in Washakie County.

Boys Soccer and Coach Ron Overcast are back and ready. Numbers were good and incoming Freshman will compete even after not getting their last season in Middle School. The first game will be March 20th against Sheridan here in Worland.

Worland soccer plays in the Wyoming 3A West. That includes : Cody, Lander, Lyman, Mountain View, Pinedale, and Powell. The first conference game will be on March 30th in Powell.

Girls Soccer started as well with Coach Danielle Warren happy with the numbers. Like the boys there are several athletes that are finishing up in basketball. Boys and girls track showed up in numbers. Worland Track is Coached by Tracey Wiley. Worland competes in Wyoming 3A West which includes : Lander, Pinedale, Lovell, Powell, Mountain View, Big Piney, and Lyman. The first track meet will be in Pavillion March 19th.

For the first time ever Wyoming will have High School Girls Softball. Their first practice was Monday and Coach Crystal Redding was pleased with the number of girls coming out for softball.

The Lady Warriors will compete in an All Class Conference in the West which includes : Cody, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, and Rock Springs. The East Conference will be. Thunder Basin, Campbell County, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne South, Laramie, and Wheatland.

The softball team will open it’s season at an all team tournament in Cheyenne on the 19th and 20th of March. Their first Conference game will be March 26th at home against Cody.
