The 99th annual Cody Stampede Rodeo celebration is in the books.
The 4th of July rodeo at Stampede Park was sold out by early yesterday. Stampede Board member Larry Johnson told KODI radio that there were over 800 entries in the five-day event, and winners walked away with over $300,000 in prize money.
Mike Darby with the Stampede Board points out that this year’s celebration highlighted the best of PRCA rodeo cowboys, and more.
The rodeo events from last night’s performance were filmed for a television broadcast that will be shown on RFD-TV next month. First Light Productions is putting together the televised event – First Light is local entertainer and television producer Dan Miller’s film company, which has produced the broadcast for the last couple of years.
