The Little Mermaid Made a Splash Over Holiday Weekend

The highly anticipated live-action film The Little Mermaid brought in $117.5 million over the holiday weekend, bringing its global total to $168 million through Sunday. The film kicked out “Fast X” from the top spot, which stars Vin Diesel. In its fourth weekend out, Guardians Vol. 3 brought in an additional $20 million in North America, bringing it’s domestic total to just under $300 million – Despite its recent mixed reviews abroad, TLM still holds a 95% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
A remake of the 1989 Disney classic, The Little Mermaid stars Halle Bailey Ariel & Melissa McCarthy as sea witch Ursula. The Little Mermaid is now in theaters nationwide – Make sure to check local listings for times!!
