A new event in Yellowstone National Park next week celebrates native people and their culture.

The Tribal Marketplace at Yellowstone: A Celebration of Plains Art and Culture, will take place from June 11th to June 14th at Old Faithful Inn. Karen Tryman, Director of Retail at Yellowstone National Park Lodges, says while Yellowstone’s history predates humans, its impact on people has been profound across the ages.

She says the Tribal Marketplace at Yellowstone is intended to celebrate the Native people of the Northern Plains and showcase their art and culture in a place that has provided both spiritual and personal inspiration.

Tryman says there are nine Native American artists scheduled to participate in the event at the Old Faithful Inn. Several of the artists are fashion designers, and there will also be a fashion show on the evening of June 11. Wednesday through Friday, the artists’ works will be on display and they will be demonstrating their techniques.
