What a way to cap off a stellar four year career for Tristan Blatt. He was a State Champion on the football field back in 2017 playing for the Broncs and in what could be his final year as a Cody athlete he walked off into the sunset as a State Champion as a member of the Cody Cubs. Tristan Blatt added to his resume this summer as he was voted Co-Player of the year in Class A Legion baseball. He also led the Cubs in Home Runs (14) and Triples (12). A terrific athlete and even better person ends his career as one of the better athletes to come through Cody High School and reflects on this year’s baseball season.

I’ve enjoyed the season a lot. We have a great group of guys. It’s been fun. Our records really nice and all but I think the best thing I take away from this season is just having a great group of guys to play with and come out here everyday with. And I think that’s something really special.”

Up next for Tristan he is off to college and will be attending the University of Wyoming

The money was really cheap and I know a bunch of guys going down there. Hayden (Bronnenberg) actually has a house down there so we’ll be roommates. It just looks like a nice school and a cool place to be and so I think I’m really going to enjoy it down there. I’ll be majoring in Sports Science.”

While Tristan isn’t going to college to play sports, pursuing a degree in sports science keeps him close to athletics.

I think just cause I have so much experience in sports in general, I think. It’s something that really interests me.” Tristan is a numbers guy and if you remember the show Sports Science with John Brenkus, Tristan’s hoping for something like that. “Yeah, exactly. I really like math and statistics. So I think that would be something really cool to get into too.”

While winning a State Title was great Tristan says he will remember the teammates he had more than anything.

It’s so cool. Me, EJ, Hayden, Jared, we’ve all been playing together for a long time. We were actually talking the other day how big our group was in the beginning and now it’s just us three. So… It’s kind of crazy but I wouldn’t rather do it with any other guys.”

Tristan Blatt is off to Laramie and will be studying at the University of Wyoming fall. Tristan still has the chance to come back and play for the Cody Cubs one more season if he chooses to do so.

And here is an interview with Tristan and the rest of the Cody Cubs Seniors following their State Title Victory.
