Schools and government agencies are honoring veterans on Monday.
The Northwest College Student Senate is joining Downrange Warriors to host a community dinner Monday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. in the DeWitt Student Center Dining Hall. In honor of Veterans Day, area residents are invited to campus to enjoy dinner, enter for a chance to win prizes and listen to talks by veteran guest speakers.
Admission is free for all veterans and those currently serving in the military. Cost for non-veterans is six dollars per person.
Cody City Hall and all other city buildings will be closed Monday for Veterans Day, including the Rec Center. Additionally, roll-outs and dumpster garbage collection within the city limits will not occur. Dumpsters normally emptied on Mondays will be dumped either Tuesday or Wednesday.
And the 4th annual Park County School District #6 Veterans Day Tribute is scheduled for Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Sweitzer Gymnasium. All community members are invited and welcome to attend this tribute event. There is a pie social for Veterans and their families immediately following the program, right next door to the gym.
Eastside Elementary Music Teacher Emily Andrews says that Park County students, grades K-12, collaborate to present this program honoring our community’s veterans and active duty service men and women to acknowledge their sacrifices.
