On Saturday the 48th annual Wyoming Shrine Bowl All-Star Football game took place as the South team topped the North by a final score of 34-32.

Cody Football’s Caleb Pryor tossed three touchdown’s on the day with his final one a dime down the near side but a failed 2-point conversion helped the South team claim the victory.

Cody’s four athletes showed out on the day with Linebacker Nic Talich earning defensive player of the game.

After an interception by Cody’s Talich, the North team would find pay-dirt first thanks to a Caleb Pryor touchdown pass.

Early in the second quarter with the North team up by seven, it was Pryor once again finding pay-dirt with a nice shuffle pass up the middle that led to another TD.

The South would answer with little time on the clock as Gatorade Player of the year, Graedyn Buell tossed his first touchdown pass of the day. The North would lead at the half, 14-7

After just three total scores in the first half, there were five total TD’s scored in the third frame. The South would outscore the North 21-12 in the 3rd and reeled off 14 unanswered to end the quarter, holding the lead at 28-26 entering the final frame.

The South would add another TD early in the fourth to stretch the lead to 34-26.

With 3:29 to go in the game, Cody’s Keaton Stone came up with a big 3rd down sack to force a punt and the North got the ball back with 99 yards to go.

On 4th and 5 with :49 seconds on the clock Pryor dropped an absolute dime for a TD score that brought the team within two but the 2-point conversion came up short and the South held on for the victory.

This was the South’s first victory in the Shrine Bowl since 2012.

Pryor finished the day 18-28 passing for 301 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
