Warriors Lose Conference Game To Lander

The Worland Warrior Football Team was in Lander this Friday for a Conference match-up that would significantly impact seeding.

With a game that Senior Quarterback Kade Weber would be out due to injury, the Warriors would start newly returning Senior Carter Clark at Quarterback.

Worland would start the game with the football and would march down the field in impressive fashion.

A 15-play 7-minute and 1-second drive with a touchdown pass from Clark to Senior Wide Reciever Court Gonsalez.

Worland with an early 7-0 lead.

Lander with the next possession would take a 7-play 3-minute drive that included 2 big plays of over 20 yards and tie the game at 7.

The Warrior’s next possession went 15 plays and included 3 penalties of 15 yards that resulted in an interception.

The Tigers would convert that turnover into a 6-play drive with a 35-yard touchdown run from Senior Runningback Matisse Weaver.

After an 8 play drive stalled for the Warriors and Lander would take over after a Worland punt

The Tigers would kick a 24-yard field go with :01 seconds remaining in the half and take a 17-7 lead.

Lander would go 3 and out to start the 3rd Quarter.

In the quickest strike in the game, Worland scored in 3 plays from a direct snap to Senior Brock Douzenis who would speed to a 51-yard touchdown run and shrink the Tiger lead 17-13.

The Tigers would then take a 10-play 5 minute 3 second drive that ended in a 2-yard touchdown run from Lander’s Senior Gabe Smith giving the Tigers a 24-13 lead.

Worland was unable to rally and Lander would again mont a 15-play drive resulting in a 1-yard touchdown run by Senior Quarterback Brenon Stauffenberg.

The final score would be 31-13 Lander with the victory.

Worland is now 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the East Conference with a match-up this Friday for a (win and in) game against the Riverton Wolverines.
