Warriors Open Conference With A Win

The Worland Warriors get a home win against an East Conference team moving the Warriors to 500 on the season to 2-2.

The Warriors beat the Lander Tigers 24-17 Friday night at Warrior Stadium.

Offensively the warriors had 79 yards rushing and 155 yards passing.

Brock Douzenis had 8 catches for 107 yards and a touchdown including a big 53 yard touchdown reception to start the 3rd quarter.

Jorey Anderson had 4 receptions for 42 yards.

Kade Weber and Aaron Carver would score the other 2 touchdowns rushing.

Carter Clark added a field goal to complete the warrior scoring.

Defensively the Warrior’s leading tackler was Aaron Carver with 12 tackles followed by Ruger Mascaro’s 10 tackles and Josh Rose’s 9 tackles.

Ty Harris had 6 tackles with 1.5 sacks and a pass block along with Christian Peterson having 4 tackles and 1.5 sacks from the Worland Defensive Line.

The Warriors Defense gave up 198 yards passing and held Lander’s leading rusher to 63 yards and no touchdowns.

It’s Homecoming Week for the Warriors.

They host the Rawlins Outlaws who are 0-4 this season.
