Washakie Commissioners Remove County Health Officer

Washakie County Commissioners held a special meeting at 10am on Monday, November 23rd to discuss personnel and concluded with the unanimous vote to remove Dr. Edward Zimmerman as the County Health Officer.
When asked about this decision Commissioner Frandson said, “Without going into details, Dr. Zimmerman has been removed as Washakie County’s Health Officer. Dr. Harrist per statue will be the County Health Officer until the Commissioners appoint a replacement.”

This move comes amidst a wave of Covid-19 infections that has Wyoming ranking among the highest in pandemic metrics.
When asked about the timetable for a potential appointment Commissioner Frandson said, “The Commissioners will be actively searching for a replacement.”
