WBC Approves Three Projects in Big Horn Basin

Written by on September 7, 2018

The Wyoming Business Council has recommended full funding for all three projects from the Big Horn Basin that were presented at yesterday’s board meeting in Cody.
Cody’s request for a $3 million-dollar Business Committed Grant and a $3 million-dollar loan for the expansion of the Gunwerks firearms manufacturing facility was among the projects recommended for full funding. The organization expects to create 52 new jobs and increase payroll over $3 million dollars in the next five years.
Powell requested a $2.6 million-dollar community development readiness grant to construct a conference and community center adjacent to a privately financed hotel, which will double the town’s existing room capacity. That project was also recommended for full funding.
And Big Horn County’s request for a $185,000 community development enhancement grant was also approved, which will allow Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area to purchase and install a magic carpet lift for beginner skiers.
The requests for projects in Cody, Powell and at Antelope Butte Ski Area will proceed to the State Loan and Investment Board meeting on October 4th.
