WHS Shined AT D&D Track Meet

The First Track and Field Meet for most schools this season was at Warrior Stadium for the Annual D&D Worland Track Meet.

28 schools from across Wyoming including Arvada-Clearmont, Big Horn, Big Piney, Buffalo, Burlington, Campbell County, Cody, Glenrock, Green River, Greybull, Kaycee, Lander, Lovell, Meeteetse, Midwest, Pinedale, Powell, Riverside, Riverton, Sheridan, Shoshoni, Ten Sleep, Thermopolis, Thunder Basin, Tongue River, Western Heritage Luthern Academy, Wind River, Wyoming Indian, and Worland.

Several Worland athletes Qualified for State, Cherise Douzenis in the 200, Zena Tapia in the 1600, Trajn Swalstad in the 3200, and the Winning Boys 4X800 team Trajn Swalstad, Harley Redding, Ivan Thomas, and Jack Bishop.

For the Lady Warriors in the Girls 100 Meter Dash Maddy Lloyd 10th, Erika Manahan 11th, and Kalistynn Crippen 14th, 161 sprinters posted times.

In the Girl’s 200 Meter Dash, Cherise Douzenis was 5th, Maddy Lloyd was 8th, Erika Manahan was 10th, and Nyssa Leyva was 15th out of 137 runners.

The Girls 400 Meter Dash had Douzenis 5th, Isaira Matamoros 15th, Maci Newell 18th, Lecsi Ramirez 22nd, and Amillia Crawford 23rd.

Worland’s Zena Tapia finished 5th in the 800 Meter and 3rd in the 1600 Meter.

The Girl’s 100 Meter Hurdles saw Anna Richardson finish 15th, in the 300 Meter Hurdles Shae Whitlock was 6th, Richardson 11th, and Sarai Matamoros 19th.

Lady Warrior 4X400 Meter Relay of Shae Whitlock, Ericka Manahan, Brynlee Roady, and Nyssa Leyva finished 5th.

Two Worland teams placed in the Girls 1600 Sprint Medley Kalistynn Crippen, Maddy Lloyd, Nyssa Leyva, and Isaira Matamoros finished 4th, Lecsi Ramirez, Maci Newell, Shae Whitlock, and Sarai Matamoros finished 6th.

In the Girl’s High Jump, Anna Richardson finished 5th and Kalistynn Crippen finished 6th.

Erika Manahan was 8th and Cherise Douzenis was 10th in the Long Jump.

In the Triple Jump Maddy Glanz was 5th and Amillia Crawford 19th with nearly 50 participants.

Manaia Peterson finished 14th in the Girl’s Shot Put and 7th in the Girl’s Discus.

For the Boy’s Team at the D&D Angel Ruelas finished 14th and Cale Cheatham finished 24th in the 100 Meter Dash with 204 sprinters posting times.

In the Boys, 200 Meter Dash Angel Ruelas finished 17th out of 171 sprinters.

The Boy’s 400 Meter had Chris Martinez finishing 8th out of 83 runners.

Harley Redding finished 5th and Jack Bishop finished 17th in the Boy’s 800 Meter Run.

In the Boy’s 1600 Meter Run Trajn Swalstad finished 5th, Jack Bishop 13th, and Harley Redding 15th.

Trajn Swalstad won the 3200 Meter Run with a 10:06.81.

The Boys 110 Meter Hurdles had Dawson Utterback finish 13th, Noah Mitchell 16th, and Wyatt Dickinson 19th.

Utterback and Mitchell finished 10th and 17th in the 300 Meter Hurdles.

The Boys 4X400 Meter Relay of Chris Martinez, Ty Miller, Maddux Cole, and Harley Redding finished 7th.

The 4X800 Team of Trajn Swalstad, Harley Redding, Ivan Thomas, and Jack Bishop won the event, the first of the meet.

In the Boy’s Pole Vault Canton Green got 6th with Dawson Utterback finishing 9th.

In the Long Jump, Cale Cheatham was 3rd, and Angel Ruelas with 6th out of 90 jumpers.

The Worland Track and Field Team will be in Cody Monday.
