“Wings of Blue” Show at Cody Air Fair

Written by on August 7, 2017

The Air Force Academy’s Elite parachuting team, Wings of Blue, put on a spectacular demonstration at this weekend’s Cody Air Fair at Choice Aviation.
The team of ten jumpers from the Academy arrived in Cody early Friday afternoon, to prepare for the air show Saturday morning. Alexander Williams, Cadet First Class for the Air Force, says that the team is made up of a mixture of officers, enlisted personnel and cadets from the Air Force Academy. They perform around the country at expositions and competitions; and Williams says they all pack their own parachutes.

Williams added that the experiences he has had with the jump team have allowed him to travel and see places that he’s always wanted to see, as well as prepare him for a career as a pilot for the Air Force.
Ten members of the seventy-member Wings of Blue team performed at Saturday’s event, which also included an “Iron Pilot” competition, two performances by the Wings of Blue team, and free aircraft rides. The Air Fair drew spectators from around the Big Horn Basin.
