Park County Search and Rescue crews were called out yesterday morning to evacuate a woman who suffered a seizure while riding horses at a ranch on the North Fork.
The Park County Sheriff’s Office sent out a press release yesterday afternoon that 64-year-old Elizabeth Manis of Raceland, Kentucky was on a horseback outing about three-quarters of a mile south of the Rimrock Dude Ranch when she suffered a seizure. Officials say she was not on the horse at the time, as the group had stopped for lunch.
Search and Rescue was immediately mobilized and deployed a ground team to the area, accompanied by the Wilderness Medical Team from Cody Regional Hospital. Rescue personnel were able to reach the victim by about a quarter after 11, treated and stabilized her, and transported her on a wheeled stretcher to a waiting ambulance.
Manis was taken to Cody Regional Hospital. Officials say her condition is unknown.
