Worland City Council Update-Liquor Licenses, Culbertson Street Project and More

Additional Council business included the approval of liquor licenses for local establishments and businesses — all received approval — for a full list of entities receiving liquor license renewals — visit cityofworland.org.
City Engineer Mike Donnell is in the final week of preparing the State Loan and Investment Board application for the Culbertson Street Project. The project has increased in cost due to diesel contamination on the route that will require the city to replace a significant portion of 12-inch water line. The total estimated cost given by Donnell was $2,891,400. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2020 should the application be approved.
Anna Venable with Washakie Medical Center asked for the support of the Mayor — Council and local law enforcement for their first annual Run for the Bowels event. The even is a 1.5 mile walk or 5k run to spread awareness of Colon Cancer. Money raised during the event will benefit the local hospital foundation who in turn will support local families affected by cancer.
