Written by jordanmckamey on November 1, 2018
An event this weekend in Cody and Powell will offer citizens the opportunity to stand up against corporate money in politics.
The organization Wyoming Promise is hosting an event in Cody on Saturday and in Powell on Sunday that will give away free bowls of hearty, homemade soup, and will also give registered Wyoming voters a chance to sign a petition that denounces big corporate money and its influence on national elections.
Lynn Horton Morrison is the vice chair of Wyoming Promise, which is advocating for free and fair elections. The organization is advocating for a constitutional amendment that would keep big corporate money from influencing politicians.
The event on Saturday will be at Christ Episcopal Church in Cody from 11-4, and on Sunday at Plaza Diane from 11-4. Both events are free to the public.
