Wyoming Ranks inside Top 15 of Most Independent States–Per Study

With Independence Day right around the corner, the personal-finance website WalletHub wanted to get a sense of just how free Americans are feeling. WalletHub today released its study of 2019’s Most Independent States, which measured how dependent Americans are on the government and other people for finances, their jobs and personal vices.
Some highlights from the rankings concerning the state of Independence in Wyoming include ranking 3rd in share of adult’s saving for children’s college education-8th in share of jobs supported by exported goods, 25th in underemployment rate and 2nd in industry variety.
According to the study–Wyoming was listed as the state with the most share of households receiving public assistance. Due to Wyoming’s low population numbers–and how the study looked at the public assistance question–that statistic is skewed against the Cowboy State.
